Fukuoka, Japan's 5th city by size, economic capital of Kyushu: 1.6 million inhabitants, milder climate than Honshu, base for exploring the south. May is my favourite month (8.0/10): 15-23°C, 37% rain, ideal temperatures before the monsoon, last cherry blossoms (sakura mid-March to early April).
