Our verdict

Montreal is the 2nd largest French-speaking city in the world after Paris: island at the confluence of the Saint Lawrence, mix of French/English/multicultural. July is my favorite month (8.7/10): 64-81°F, 39% rain, festivals (Montreal International Jazz Festival early July, Just for Laughs mid-July, Osheaga music early August), terraces everywhere.
